Right after Hongloumeng was published, it has been well-received by a lot of people. Some drama writers even tried to change the plot to make it go well with traditional Chinese drama. In this paper, I would like to analyze Wu Hao, the Hongloumeng drama writer, and his Hongloumeng Santao. This paper is comprised of four subjects in total, including first preface and last conclusion. First chapter starts with urging the need of this research, showing the product of the past study, and the direction of this study. Chapter two consists of the motive of the dramatization and the elements of effect. The most important portion is that Wu Hao felt the sense of competition with other writers, especially Zhong Zhen Kui. So he planed to have discrimination with the works of Zhong. In the chapter three, we are going to analyze the main features of Hongloumeng Santao, one of which presents the change of the role of the narrator, which usually is female role. Hongloumeng Santao has spreaded across many countries, including Korea. A copy in Kyujanggak, the library in Seoul Nation University in South Korea, which was printed around in 1882, has a few differences with the first copy in the point of illustration.
